Multiplier Event – Malta

The Maltese Multiplier Event was held on Saturday 27 th October, at the University of Malta facilities. The main speaker was Prof. Russell Smith, the trainer of the “Be the Change” Maltese team and Director of the Centre for Entrepreneurship and Business Incubation at the University of Malta.

At the event has been invited a group of prospective mentors, that can be able to follow and support young people aspiring entrepreneurs. 45 people attended the event. After providing an introduction to the “Be The Change” project, Prof. Smith presented to the participants the main project results achieved in Malta and the training materials produced by the Consortium, including the set of 17 short videos realized by the Maltese team, available online.

Furthermore, each attendee received some copies of an Handbook produced by the Maltese team, built from 13 of the most useful training modules as reported by NEETs and Seniors involved in the pilot phase in this country. The audience showed a real interest in the learning materials and in the mentoring program developed and implemented in the context of the “Be The Change” project. The event ended with a tasting of food prepared by a group of migrant women.

Multiplier Event – Slovenia

The Slovenian Multiplier Event took place on 25 th of October 2018 at UPI – ljudska univerza Žalec. The event was divided in 2 parts:

  1. in the first part Marjana Rogel Peršič, Biserka Neuholt Hlastec as well as Franja Centrih presented the results of the Erasmus+ “Be The Change” project. After that it has been carried out a round table with one mentor and one mentee. Both talked about their experience in the project.
  2. In the second part of the event it has been invited a young boy who participated in the Slovenian national TV show “Masterchef” who was very successful in this show.

The Slovenian project team thought this could be very motivational for mentees as well as for the other participants. At the end of Multiplier Event he cooked for the 57 participants which attended the event.

On 10. Oktober 2018 in Berlin Urbanstraße, took place the public event “GEFLOHEN, ANGEKOMMEN UND DANN?”. We could report to a wide audience the main results of the “Be The Change” project, describe our courses and online training materials, answer the questions of the participants, exchange ideas on mentoring and non-formal education in entrepreneurial competences with NEETs and make a good networking.

The event lasted one day with conferences in the morning and workshops in the afternoon.

The team of AWO Begegnungszentrum with Ben Eberle and the AWO Kreisverband Spree-Wuhle organised the multiplier event. Dr. Elisabetta Abbondanza held the lecture “Be The Change-Förderung von Unternehmensgeist durch Mentoren“ and has been giving some inputs in the workshop of the afternoon withe the title “Mentoring mit Geflüchteten – Erfahrung mit Mentoren Ansätzen bei der Einbindung von Geflüchteten in den Arbeitsmarkt“ The BBWA Berlin and Interkreuzhain cooperated and invited other organisations to report about their activities on mentoring, in the special case of refugees, who are searching for an educational programm, work, and for a recognition of their previous studies and certificates. Guests as been the Landesprogramm„Mentoring“ (FCZB), Frau Dr. Yasemin Haack – Arbeitsagentur Süd, Frau Kerstin Schukalla – bridge – Berliner Netzwerk für Bleiberecht, Ulrike Ehrlichmann – Bezirksamt Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg. A special thank to the referents Brigitta Wradinek, Alaa Kassab and IQ Netzwerk Berlin.

Multiplier Event

In October 2018 all partners of the consortium organized a Multiplier Event in their countries.

The scope of these events was to present the final results of the project and raise awareness among the public and private stakeholders about the main constraints of the topic touched by the project.

During the events the main project steps and achievements were described, thus to disseminate the results
of the pilot test.

Transnational Project Meeting: Venezia

The “Be The Change” consortium met in Venice, at Ca’ Foscari University, on 20 and 21 September 2018, for the fifth and last Transnational project meeting. Partners presented and shared the main results of the pilot testing phase carried out in four countries concerning mentors and mentees, highlighting strengths,
weaknesses and main achievements. During the discussion, partners shared also ideas on the whole project (e.g. focusing on what went well and on its challenges) and agreed a work-plan, their roles and deadlines for carrying out the last project activities (e.g. organization of Multiplier Events in each country, production of Guidelines, Handbook and Final Report).

Transnational Project Meeting: Malta

The partners of the BeTheChange consortium met in Malta on 9th and 10th May for the fourth Transnational Meeting. They reviewed the results of the pilot phase trainings and agreed on the procedure and tools for the assessment of the learning outcomes. They also decided that all training materials will be uploaded on the VLE/e-learning platform which will be a sort of “repository”. After the Multiplier Events to be organized by all partners by the end of October at latest, the Final Report of the project has to be complied. The partners also agreed on the content and tasks for each country.

Transnational Project Meeting: Žalec

I partner del consorzio si sono incontrati a Žalec, in Slovenia, il 28 e 29 settembre 2017 per esaminare i progressi del progetto e decidere in merito alla concettualizzazione dei materiali di formazione, della sua struttura e del contenuto. Il materiale formativo sarà basato sui dati di ricerca e sul quadro concordato.

I partner elaboreranno i materiali di formazione fino alla fine del 2017, prendendo in considerazione i diversi profili e le caratteristiche / esigenze comuni dei NEET e degli imprenditori anziani nei paesi partecipanti (ad esempio persone con bassa autostima che devono essere valutate).

Speech: Gli imprenditori maturi si raccontano ai ragazzi

Il 28 febbraio e il 7 marzo scorsi l’INRCA ha svolto, presso la sede di Via Santa Margherita 5 ad Ancona, due focus-group, cioè due discussioni con 15 ragazzi  tra i 18 e i 29 anni che non sono iscritti a percorsi formativi e che ancora non lavorano al fine di raccoglierne opinioni e bisogni in ambito formativo e lavorativo.

Durante i focus-group sono emerse passioni e difficoltà incontrate dai ragazzi, a cui i ricercatori dell’INRCA hanno voluto dare un seguito, organizzando un terzo incontro che ha avuto luogo il 16 marzo, dal titolo: “Gli imprenditori maturi si raccontano ai ragazzi: un incontro intergenerazionale sul fare impresa“.

Obiettivi specifici di tale incontro erano:

  • valorizzare l’esperienza professionale degli imprenditori maturi;
  • favorire la trasmissione di competenze imprenditoriali da questi ai giovani coinvolti nei focus-group del progetto, attraverso testimonianze di vita reale in tema di impresa;
  • fornire ai ragazzi consigli e spunti di riflessione per orientarsi in ambito occupazionale, anche attraverso il contributo di esperti di mercato del lavoro e impresa.

Tale incontro ha visto l’intervento di 5 imprenditori maturi che operano o hanno operato in differenti settori economici (commercio, marketing, informatica, lavori marittimi, servizi educativi), 15 ragazzi e due docenti e formatori, il Dott. Giovanni Lucarelli e il Prof. Francesco Orazi.

Gli imprenditori hanno raccontato le circostanze in cui hanno avviato la loro attività, hanno descritto le difficoltà incontrate e come le hanno superato. Un filo rosso accomuna tutte le storie, benché diverse: la passione e la motivazione.

Una volta individuata la passione, quali caratteristiche deve avere dunque un buon imprenditore? Dalle testimonianze degli imprenditori emergono le seguenti caratteristiche: la tenacia, il sacrificio, la capacità di individuare soci e collaboratori.

Il Dott. Giovanni Lucarelli ha illustrato i quattro passi fondamentali per avviare un’impresa:

  • individuare una buona idea e riconoscere se un’idea è buona
  • individuare un buon team
  • individuare le risorse economiche
  • diffondere il proprio “prodotto”

Il Prof. Francesco Orazi ha spiegato perché possiamo definire l’Italia un paese che non è “di giovan”i e non è “per i giovani”. L’invecchiametno della popolazione e un “sistema paese” che non supporta i giovani nel realizzare le proprie idee, non deve tuttavia scoraggiare i ragazzi. I giovani italiani sono infatti, tra i più perspicaci innovatori e ci sono oggi nuovi strumenti e nuovi canali per realizzare e promuovere le innovazioni. Orazi riporta qualche esempio di prodotti innovativi sorti nell’ambito di fab-lab (fabrication laboratory).
